Managed IT Services

Networks that never sleep. IT that stays out of your way.

Enterprise-grade infrastructure for operators who can't afford downtime — redundant connectivity, site-wide coverage, hardware prioritisation, and 24/7 remote monitoring.

What We Do

Six layers that make a site bulletproof

Redundant Connectivity

Load-balanced dual-line setup — Starlink alongside your BT or fibre line. If one drops, the other takes over instantly and invisibly. No downtime, no failed card transactions.

Site-Wide WiFi Coverage

Strategically placed high-capacity access points eliminate dead zones across your entire site — from main shop to outbuildings, greenhouses to café. Physical cabling wherever possible for rock-solid stability.

Point-to-Point Wireless

Need to connect buildings separated by terrain or distance? We deploy enterprise-grade PtP wireless — effectively an invisible cable through the air, no trenching required.

Hardware Prioritisation

Static IP addresses reserved for your POS terminals, security cameras, and office printers. Critical operational hardware always has right of way — a guest's phone can never accidentally kick your card machine offline.

Remote Network Monitoring

We watch your network health 24/7. When something is wrong, our engineers often diagnose and resolve it before your staff or customers notice a disruption.

EPOS Uptime Support

Proactive remote monitoring of your Lightspeed or other EPOS system. Till connectivity issues diagnosed and resolved remotely — keeping your team processing payments with confidence.

Case Study

Future-proofing connectivity at Babylon Eco Centre

How a garden centre eliminated internet dropouts, secured daily operations, and turned guest WiFi into a marketing asset — without laying a single trench.

The Challenge

Rural isolation vs. modern retail

Babylon Eco Centre is an expansive, multi-functional site — main shop, kitchen and café, florist, restorer's office, and a large greenhouse — spread across a rural property where traditional broadband lines are prone to dropping out.

When the connection failed, the cost was immediate: POS terminals couldn't process card payments, security cameras lost their feeds, and back-office productivity ground to a halt. Pushing a reliable WiFi signal through thick greenhouse glass, dense foliage, and separate outbuildings made matters worse.

The Solution

An ironclad, site-wide network

  • Bulletproof redundancyIntelligent load-balancing device managing Starlink + BT simultaneously. Either line can fail — the other takes over invisibly.
  • Wall-to-wall coverage5 high-capacity access points across main shop, kitchen & café, florist, restorer's office, and greenhouse. Physical cabling wherever possible.
  • "A cable through the air"One area was separated by terrain that made cabling impossible. We deployed a Point-to-Point wireless bridge — enterprise-grade, no trenching.
  • Hardware prioritisationStatic IPs reserved for POS terminals, security cameras, and printers. Critical hardware always has right of way on the network.

Lightspeed EPOS

Lightspeed's power depends on the network underneath it

Babylon Eco Centre runs Lightspeed EPOS to unify their retail shop, florist, and café into a single management dashboard. Lightspeed's most powerful features — real-time stock syncing, tableside ordering, and live financial reporting — all require a flawless, high-performance network. We build that infrastructure, then monitor it remotely to protect uptime.

Multi-zone stock syncing

Staff scan products in the greenhouse or florist — stock updates instantly across the whole site. No dead zones means no inventory discrepancies.

Tableside café ordering

Waitstaff take orders on mobile tablets, routed directly to kitchen printers. Hardware prioritisation keeps café orders off the guest WiFi band.

Live financial reporting

Management access Lightspeed's cloud backend in real time. Our Starlink + BT load-balanced backbone ensures reporting is never delayed.

Zero
Missed card transactions

Dual-line failover means your POS never loses connection, even when your primary broadband drops.

We see network faults before your staff do — and fix them before they become a customer problem.

The Value Add

Turning guest WiFi into a marketing asset

At Babylon Eco Centre, we didn't just provide free WiFi — we transformed it into an active marketing tool. A Smart Guest WiFi Portal requires visitors to log in with their email address, creating a steady stream of verified, GDPR-consented contacts.

  • Automated marketingVisitor contact details flow directly into the marketing database — ready to promote events, seasonal sales, or café specials to proven footfall.
  • Bandwidth controlNo individual can monopolise the connection with heavy downloads. Guests get a smooth, fast experience; operational traffic stays unaffected.
  • Content filteringInappropriate websites are automatically blocked across the guest network — keeping the environment safe and brand-appropriate.

Experience it in person

Visit Babylon Eco Centre and see the network in a live, bustling retail environment — seamless guest WiFi, Lightspeed EPOS running across five zones, and payments processing anywhere on site.

A resilient network is no longer just an IT requirement — it is the foundation of modern retail operations and customer retention. For garden centre operators especially, a dropped connection at the till is lost revenue, every time.

Questions

Common questions

We already have broadband. What do you actually change?

Most broadband setups run a single line into a consumer-grade router. We replace that with intelligent load-balancing hardware that manages two separate connections simultaneously — typically your existing BT or fibre line alongside Starlink. The result is automatic failover: if your primary line drops, traffic shifts to the backup instantly and invisibly.

What is a point-to-point wireless link?

When two buildings on your site are separated by terrain or distance that makes laying physical cable impractical, we deploy a directional wireless bridge between them. It behaves like a hardwired connection — high speed, low latency, and stable — without the disruption of trenching across your grounds.

Why does IP reservation matter for my tills?

On a busy network, IP addresses are handed out dynamically. A guest's phone can inadvertently receive an address that conflicts with your card machine, knocking it offline mid-transaction. We map your network and lock your critical hardware — POS terminals, cameras, printers — to fixed addresses so this can never happen.

Do you work with Lightspeed EPOS?

Yes. Lightspeed is cloud-based and requires a flawless, high-performance network to function properly — multi-zone stock syncing, tableside ordering, and live reporting all depend on continuous connectivity. We build the infrastructure Lightspeed requires, then monitor it remotely to protect uptime.

Can you add guest WiFi on top of the managed network?

Always. Our managed networks include a dedicated guest VLAN that is completely isolated from your operational traffic. Guests get reliable internet; your POS, cameras, and back-office systems run on a separate, protected segment. We can add a branded captive portal to capture marketing data from every visitor.

“The network just works. Card transactions, cameras, guest WiFi — everything runs without issue. Worth every penny.”
